Simply Breakaway

When you're the first to fall,
the one who sits back and holds the burdens of others,
you're bound to fall hard,
and you're fated to break.
After the downhill slide,
you need to find your way,
back up to the sun,
even through the cracks in the sidewalk,
and protect yourself from being stepped on again.
Of course life isn't going to ask you what you want,
but you already know from experience how much it loves to test you.
It's either going to make you stronger,
or test you even more until it does.
If you don't learn the first time,
and rarely do you ever,
it's just going to continue testing you until you do learn from it.
Life is notorious for its excrutiating pain before the sun breaks through the clouds.
Sometimes you need that one person to help you through everything,
and sometimes you need to go through the elements alone.
You need to take advantage of your defining moments,
when you finally stand up for yourself,
because it's your second chance to evolve.
Second chances only come once in a lifetime,
so go for it,
and listen to the voice telling you to simply breakaway.
